Sultan of Selangor is surprised when confirmed by the COVID-19 Immunization Task Force (CITF), until June 1, Selangor only received a total of 615,210 doses of vaccine and not 2.9 million doses as previously claimed.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said its unfair when the ratio of total vaccine doses is currently not balanced with the total population of the state of Selangor which is 6.5 million
According to Private Secretary of the Sultan of Selangor Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani, His Majesty remind that the state of Selangor is the largest contributor to Malaysia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), therefore priority should be given to this state.
He said, the Sultan of Selangor said in the current situation, the lives of the people should be given priority over other agendas besides that he also wanted the number of vaccination centers (PPV) in the state to be increased, especially in rural areas.
“His Majesty also praised the current Selangor Government’s aggressive move to conduct a free COVID-19 swab test for the people in all parts of the state.
“He advised the people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine to remain vigilant and careful and appealed to all the people to continue to diligently comply with the instructions under the Movement Control Order (PKP) set by the government,” Mohammad Munir said in a statement shared on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook today.
In the statement, His Majesty also appreciated the sacrifices of these frontliners and gave full cooperation in the efforts to control and eradicate the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
