Stand Down: Over 200,000 Signatures Calling for Azmin Ali’s Resignation

An online petition that was created on Change.org urging for the resignation of International Trade and Industry (MiTi) Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has garnered over 200,000 signatures in a matter of days.

The reason for the #AzminLetakJawatan petition is quoted to be “only one reason: the failure to function as a reliable Senior Minister.”

Azmin has recently made waves by approving a large number of businesses operating during Malaysia’s Movement Control Order 3.0, which defeats the purpose of a full lockdown.

PKR Youth Leader, Akmal Nasir, has stated that he, too, has signed the petition and encouraged others to do the same.

“The petition for Tajuddin (Prasarana Chairman) to resign got 139,000 signatures and he (Tajuddin) resigned. If this (Azmin’s) petition achieves 200,000, we’ll see if the Prime Minister dares to ask him to step down.”

As of 5 pm today, the #AzminLetakJawatan petition has 215,250 signatures. The targeted amount has changed from 200,000 to 300,000 signatures.
