Senior citizen compounded RM5000

Two senior citizens among three men were compounded RM5000 after being found violating the Tightened Movement Control Order (PKPD).

The unreasonable excuse of a senior citizen who wore a pink bracelet to violate the quarantine because it was hot at home and wanted to go for a walk paid off when he was fined RM5,000.

Raub District Police Chief Superintendent Kama Azural Mohamed said the three individuals compounded were 73, 69 and 52 years old respectively.

“The reason given by them for leaving the house after being quarantined is because it is hot at home and they want to go for a walk is unreasonable.”

“Their action can cause the spreading of Covid-19 infection to the general public if found positive” He said in a statement

Azural said the two men were compounded according to Article 25 (a) of the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Regulations (PPPDPPB) 2021 amounting to RM2,000 for gathering and eating at shops in the PKPD area without
