Covid case might reach between 5,000 to 10,000

The implementation of emergency and Movement Control Order (MCO) still failed to reduce cases and even continued to increase, causing some sectors, including education, to be affected.

According to Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the committee also expects infections case to reach between 5,000 to 10,000 a day if no proactive efforts are implemented immediately including speeding up the Covid-19 vaccination program.

“When Parliament does not sit, there is already a loss of responsibility and transparency to improve weak policies. In the end, when the number of cases increases, it will have a greater impact on all citizens, including the B40 group and school and university students for failing to get access to proper education.” He said in a Bicara khas Covid-19 in his Facebook postage yesterday.

Anwar also said State and district governments need to be given space to decide on the implementation of the Movement Control Order (PKP) in the affected areas.

He said the move is seen to be more effective in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic in a more targeted manner than currently done comprehensively thus adversely affecting all citizens.
