The trial of Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s case involving the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fund, which is scheduled to continue today, has been postponed until Thursday
This is because the former prime minister has yet to recover from eye surgery he underwent last week.
Najib’s lead counsel, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah informed the matter to Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah when the proceedings began today.
“Najib has already seen a doctor and he was advised rest properly. He will see his doctor again, tomorrow,” He said.
According to Shafee, the doctor said because of the eye surgery, the swelling around his eyes has reduced but the redness is still there.
Najib faces four charges, namely using his position to obtain bribes amounting to RM2.3 billion from 1MDB funds and 21 charges of money laundering involving the same amount.
