Malay Rulers must play a role in choosing a new leader as prime minister to curb the unstable situation of Covid-19
According to Member of Parliament for Gua Musang Tengku razaleigh Hamzah (Ku Li), Dewan Rakyat cannot determine who is the Prime Minister even if they are commissioned by the Federal Constitution because at present it is not fully functional.
Hence, he said, Malay Rulers are expected to play the role of the constitutional because Dewan Rakyat had difficulties choosing the prime minister.
“This responsibility requires the choosing of a leader without personal interests, political parties or even personal considerations.
“Elected leaders should be able to understand the current situation of the country facing a crisis as a result of covid-19 and lead a government that can overcome the crisis,” he said in a statement.
