Kelantan has the highest infection rate of Covid-19

Kelantan recorded the highest number of new cases yesterday with 663 new cases in 24 hours.

Through an infographic posted on the Ministry of Health  official Twitter, the state recorded the highest COVID-19 or R naught (Rt) infectious rate nationwide yesterday at 1.53 compared to the national rate of 1.16.

Among the states that recorded the highest infectious rate included Kuala Lumpur with 1.29, followed by Melaka 1.23 and Kedah 1.18.

Meanwhile, the value of the National Ro/Rt rose slightly to 1.16 from 1.15 previously.

Kelantan Local Government, Housing and Health Committee chairman Dr Izani Husin yesterday reported to have said that the significant increase in new cases had resulted in full used of hospital facilities, the Low Risk Quarantine Center (PKRC) and caused insufficient health personnel.

The districts of Kota Bharu, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Machang, Tumpat and Tanah Merah will be subject to PKP starting April 16 while PKP in Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang districts start yesterday.
