Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar the Sultan of Johor ordered Members of Parliament (MP) and State Assemblymen (ADUN) to mobilize a role in facing the growing threat of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said, the Emergency Ordinance which prevents Parliament and the ADUN should not deter elected representatives to work together for the good of society.
“I call for a discussion in a meeting to be held among all Members of Parliament and state assemblymen in the state chaired by the Menteri Besar of Johor,”
“I am aware of the Emergency Ordinance that is in force preventing Parliament and DUN sittings from being held at this time.
“However, I think the services of Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen in Johor need to be mobilized to continue to help the people affected by the outbreak” said Sultan Ibrahim in a Facebook statement yesterday
The Sultan of Johor issued the order following the increase in daily Covid-19 positive cases in the state which recorded a total of 699 new cases, yesterday.
He said the discussion would enable all MPs and state assemblymen to give their views in curbing the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
