Preliminary report on the collision between the two Light Rail Transit (LRT) will be submitted by the Director General of the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), Azlan Shah Al-Bakri to the Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong today.
According to Ka Sion, a special task force was set up led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, Datuk Isham Ishak which will begin the investigation within two weeks.
“The preliminary Interim Report is sent to the minister within 24 hours. I am waiting from the Director General of APAD today to get the preliminary findings.” he said in Selamat Pagi Malaysia, RTM, today.
He said experts from outside and those with skills in LRT operation would be involved in the team to identify the cause of the collision for the first time in the 23-year history of LRT operation in the country.
“The Ministry of Transport takes this incident seriously, we are still getting the answer as to what actually happened, whether it was an individual mistake or another mistake.” He said
According to Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, at least 47 out of 213 passengers were reported seriously injured while hundreds more were lightly injured in the collision of two Light Rail Transit (LRT) trains, each from Gombak and Kelana Jaya here.
