Additional RM2.1 Billion for BPR

Prime Minister said the government had agreed to allocate RM2.1 billion to increase the rate of the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) program.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the move was taken because the government wanted to continue to prioritize the people’s concern agenda to ensure the well being and survival of the vulnerable and workers who depend on daily wages.

He said this additional BPR will be credited to the recipient’s account at the end of June.

“For category of households earning below RM2,500, they will receive an additional BPR rate of RM500 while households earning between RM2,501 to RM5,000 will receive RM300 and single people will receive RM100.

This payment is in addition to the last payment phase of the BPR in September of RM2.4 billion” He said.
