18 compounded on first day of lockdown

On the first day of the full movement restriction which began yesterday, A total of 18 individuals were compounded for failing to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs)

This happen during a monitoring operation carried out by a team of officers and policemen from the Task Force in Bentong, yesterday.

Bentong District Police Chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar, said as a result of the monitoring, 18 compounds were imposed on the public with various offenses for violating the SOP.

“Those compounded consist of 16 men and two women, all locals aged between 20 and 46, and if convicted will be charged RM1,500 to RM5,000 for each compound.” he said in a statement today.

Compounds are issued to them under Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations (No. 2) 2021

“Strict action will be taken against individuals and premises that fail and are not impressed with the SOPs set by the National Security Council (MKN).” Zaiham said.
